Hi folks! I’ve recently posted up a video on Flickr showing a quickie on the kind of editing I do on my pictures. With that in mind I wanted to do a few more challenging images with complicated editing to make a series of SL image editing tutorials.
Keep in mind, I’m not a pro with editing images, I always kinda… mess up, undo and figure things out. The biggest tip I can share about photoshoping is really – practice! I’ve been DIY-ing with Photoshop for years and years now… so all it takes is patience and just that. With Secondlife shots is that everyone has their own unique technique. You might like to shoot with shadows and then edit from there, you might like to green screen or take the full image in world. Whatever your method is, I hope this tutorial helps you somewhat!
The first series of this tutorial is me giving you basic instructions on photoshop and some tips I’ve learnt along the way. The actual image editing will be highlighted more in future tutorials.
That’s the final sped up video for the shot. It combines all elements taught underneath this post:
Hihi! I’ve been taking a lil break off working and chillaxing around cleaning up my inventory and hoping to get back to the swing of blogging some of those inventory thingies I cleaned out. There’s been so much amazing mesh released lately that I originally made a “Mesh” folder for my inventory but now all of them are sorted into the usual categories I made.
One thing I love about mesh is how much more masculine options we can wear properly now without prims jutting in and out of our bodies crazily. I just wish there was better sizing options cause even with standard sizing, I’m between a xs and a s, not quite a perfect fit. This post shows some items which aren’t exactly made for mens, but they do fit very loose and relaxed, kinda as if you took mens items and put em on, something I’ve been waiting for in SL for a long long time. more?
My final post regarding EPOCH Legend is dedicated to Clowning which ended up being my favorite for various different reasons. One is cause both me and sue are part of creating items for that theme. Secondly, Nyasyousa Oh and Shiroyagi Writer from Picnic created the venue. Both of them have builds and creations I have admired for a very long time. Having the pleasure and honor to work with the two of them for this event was a huge highlight for both me and sue! Finally and the biggest reason of all, some of my favorite items from this event comes from Clowning. The designers for this theme truly pulled out all their big guns, being absolutely creative and fun.
The items on the header image all comes from Clowning, a beautiful white tent from Picnic, which is actually the event space itself, can come in handy for either an open air camping tent, or even tents to use for parties in SL. I love Happy Mood’s Pop Up book as well which has adorable fantasy animals making it an item I love to have out just for displays. The book comes with a few poses to make your avatar seemingly come merge with it, like popping out from a fairy tale. The sheep also comes from Picnic and LOOK it’s wearing socks!! Need I say more about why it’s just simply brilliant? more?
The next post for EPOCH Legend goes to Beast, the venue was created by Azure Electricteeth who did an amazing job evoking the dark and primal feel of the word Beast. The entrance is really grand with the words of Beast designers floating about in space, and you walk through a long tunnel into the actual area itself. She creatively blended 2d and 3d for the venue and that was one of my favorite parts of what she did.
Not to forget, Azure made amazing items for the event too. From a crazy fur turban to intricate corsets. Oddly enough my favorite piece from her was the arrows which I thought were crazy adorable. I used them as hair chopsticks and random accessories for the next 2 looks that sue said was inspired by our state of hoboness in rl… more?
Been a while since I touched blogging, lets see if I remember any of it at all. I’m more likely to do this more sporadically than ever, covering just events or what not. Mostly I wanted to spend some time doing some looks for the EPOCH Legend event which has been a great great success thus far! Thank you to Linden Lab for putting us in editor’s picks over at the destination guide! That really made me and sue’s day – plus of course all the organizers are just /thrilled/
Remember EPOCH Legend goes all the way till March 11th so there’s still time to check out the amazing venues and themes, plus the wonderful items from designers. I’m following what I usually do on flickr and keep the credits to a minimum of what I wish to feature. Everything else, feel free to ask in the comments or on flickr. I will reply to them asap! more?
