A Daily Dosage of Menswear Please

Today will be Day 4 of the Modavia Fashion Week 2011 — I was planning to post looks from designers of each day of the show but unfortunately I might be missing some days so I have to skip and go in a rather weird order. But i’ll try to feature some pieces from my favorite shows at least. For this post, I mainly feature item from the designers on Day 2, which I thought was a day catered mostly for mens. Menswear in SL has clearly evolved a ton from my time in SL. I was glad to see a whole lot more color in menswear nowadays, last time I seem to only find suits, blacks, whites and greys… can get pretty depressing at times.

My favorite pieces from Day 2 has to be items from FIR & MNA‘s casual but trend setting collection and also Sartoria who dabbled with some really awesome patterns in the coats and jackets they made. Both also feature amazing shoes, but Sartoria shoes can’t seem to resize properly, so I had to forgo another pair which I actually loved a lot. The looks are a lot more casual and street wear friendly, but I love the masculine edge male items tend to give females in SL.

The first look features FIR & MNA‘s Dev Cardigan which has a very boxy cut to it. This kinda cut isn’t easy to find in SL, I don’t think the picture shows it quite clearly but if you have large chest, you might need to alpha them out a tad bit. The necklace I have on are also items from Kunglers who didn’t have their items out till yesterday, the ethnic touch to it is just gorgeous. To finish the look off, i’m wearing epoque‘s brand new Pantone Satchel which is a classic well cut folder clutch thing everyone needs in their inventory!

The second one too features a jacket from FIR & MNA who has quite the variety of outerwear available. I paired it over Sartoria‘s Grieveson sweater which is just plain adorable. I really like the interesting patterned knit although I added my own resizer script to make this fit properly. I hope more menswear designers give resizer options in their clothes that can go a lot smaller so girls can play with their clothes a lot more. If not make your items mod, I think that would be greatly helpful! The bag I hold here is a second release from epoque, another clutch but this one is less masculine though, a lot more female geared.

My final look shows my favorite jacket from FIR & MNA, a bright colored duffle coat which is just sculpted genius. I’m always at a envy at designers who can create a duffle coat, the prims on them are always so insane. To keep the look focused on the jacket, I styled this really simply with tres blah‘s fifty linden friday’s tied up tank. I modified the bow tie that comes in one of FIR & MNA’s look to become a cute little head accessory, which is a fun way to mix up male items as well.

Hope you guys liked these looks, I got a comment on my previous blog post about the pictures being modified — just wanted to say clearly that I do modify all of my blog images and they are by no means 100% accurate to the item. They are equally lovely in world but I have no abilities to manipulate SL shadows well, so I have to manually add them in unfortunately. Occasionally I mod hair styles from designers too, but rarely drastically (cept if I need em to fit hats). At the same time, some people asked me why I don’t list credits/surls. I do! Please click the + signs under each of the looks, all the credits and SURLs are all in there <3

  1. Love this look! Just wondering, are you wearing coloured brows with the skin?

  2. Stella – Thank you and yes :D I’m wearing the different brow options available for the Ginta skin, I think it was the full brunette/ginger ones mostly!
