Hi hi~ So today I come to you bearing quite sad news… Unfortunately news is that Noju will be closing its doors at the end of this month. It’s still unclear if they will be back in the future or rebranding but it’s really sad to see amazing creators leave… This blog post is to dedicate all my best wishes to Noju’s creator and hope that no matter where she goes, only creativity and happiness follows along! I recently blogged Noju’s Spring Lace dress but they have generously put out a blue version as a thank you gift for all their customers and supporters along their journey in SL. Along with this comes also a gift pose — so do drop by and grab those and along the way, take a look at their amazing stuff and buy some before the store closes! Noju has tons of feminine offerings and is a SL girly girl dream to be in that store. Not only that, Noju also sells some adorable accessories and hair! Yes! Their newer hair styles are just lovely too~

I decided to make 2 looks featuring this gift item and hopefully entice you guys to the quality of work Noju offers. This look is also in LeBonBon where my friends and I have taken the same piece and each of us took our own spin to make different looks from the item. The lace of this Noju item really inspired me to do something feminine and lingerie like — which is why I decided to play with the pieces from Nylon Pinkney’s new store Ooh LaLa! Nylon’s quirky appeal can still be seen in her lingerie pieces and the store itself is quite fun to visit. Go over to tableau and take a peek, you’ll see what I mean!

I was initially planning to do a few looks revolving around just 1 dress — but for some reason SL just never lets me log in world and every time I do, I get crashed out in less than mere minutes. I must have done something horribly wrong *sobsfest* Still wanted to share this piece before it goes off the shelves~

Chocolate Atelier released some lovely flower dresses in 5 different colors, but the pink one is 50% off from May 13th – May 18th; so take this opportunity to jump on over and get it! I wanted to show it off better but alas technology hates me. So see more images of the dress here.

In this look I was thinking of showing the dress’s versatility by making it into a top, which unfortunately doesn’t showcase the beauty of this dress to its fullest potential. The details on the top is really gorgeous and you should definitely tp over and take a look <3 Chocolate Atelier is still an extremely small store and there isn’t much there, but it’s definitely exciting to see a store like this grow!

I layered the top with Emery’s cardigan which are unisex and looks great on both genders. I love the color options available and I’m a huge cardigan girl so my inventory is bursting with all sorts of them! I’ve been meaning to showcase both &bean’s lovely shorts exclusively made for Trilogy and also this freebie scarf from Mr.Poet — both pieces which are great staples for your inventory!

Accessories wise, I really love these new pair of glasses from December. The lenses flip open and close and has several lens color for you to pick from. Another awesome thing about it is that if you wait patiently enough, you can win it from the lucky board at their store too! The shoes from this outfit come from Rachel Breaker and it comes in full white tentacle version which means you can have any color combination you wish to match your outfit. I love its quirkiness which is what Rachel is known for, but yet they’re extremely wearable! I’ve had these on for days with socks and am really falling more and more in love with it!

Finally, the hair comes from D!va; I remember Uma blogged about this hair store a while back and Its been a long time since I went back to take a look — boy was I glad I did! They’ve improved their textures by a long mile since the last time I was there and there’s lotsa styles to pick from now. I really love their demos too, they make you do really cute poses while demoing the hair which is always fun to look at.

There’s been tons of skin releases these past few days that have us all at the edge of our seats. Minnu Palen from LeLutka recently released LOLA which definitely got a lot of us talking and scrambling to the sim. A big huge thanks to Minnu for creating this and for packing them so well too! I was expecting the usual box or shopping bag packaging only to get a makeup palette which is just the most adorable thing for skins~ Fun stuff!

I’ve been lucky enough to really been able to wear all of Minnu’s recent skins pretty decently on my shape. However, Lola might be my new favorite! It’s a little rounder than usual and less harsh model-like, more casual and shape fitting — at least in my opinion. LeLutka skins have always brought out a more fashion-y side in me so I decided to do 2 looks in Black and White in a more fashion-y way ^^ Hope you like! <3

When I need to go high fashion, I have this instinct to rely on Chance Greatrex’s poses; Chance recently released 2 new sets out at DARE. Inspired by Beyonce’s Single Ladies video. I made bodysuits which you will get when you buy his fatpacks~ So drop by and check em out cause those poses are fffiiieeerrrcee~~~

Another brand I wanted to recommend you fashionistas is House of Fox. House of Fox creators were originally (if I’m not wrong) Sims creator — I remember following them on flickr and was only too happy to find out they opened a store in Second Life. Their items are all done in blacks, whites and greys — mostly blacks; and are just super intense fashion! I’m sporting their Hardcore Jacket and Angyness Heels in my black look and you can get a small taste of their aesthetics from those pieces. Definitely check em out if you’re into high fashion cause I’m sure you’ll love them!

I was going through my objects folder where occasionally you find unopened boxes of goodies and this was one of those times. I opened a box Como sent to me a while back and boy was I glad I did! This gorgeous flower top comes from Yozoh* and it was initially a dress but I shortened it and tinted it a little to give it a worn, gypsy like feel~ I played with that idea when coming up with this look and had tons of fun with it!

With a gypsy like top, you need gypsy like hair and MiraiStyle’s hair was just something I couldn’t miss using! MiraiStyle is one of those stores I visit once every few months and get all surprised at their new releases; I’m a fan of their work but never quite got around posting much of their hairstyles. I’m glad I finally got to use this one. This hair comes with a texture change for the scarf and each texture works appropriately with the style~

The rest of the look came together pretty fast after and I wanted to keep this post short and sweet to let the styling do the talking so to speak. By the way, I’m obsessed with Fashionably Dead’s new skin and I just can’t seem to take it off! I love a good hand drawn skin and the Tableau girls always outdo themselves again and again <3 big big hearts and loves! (I wore the freckled version which has freckles ALL over the body! Freckles ftw!)

Gosh! Blogging withdrawals kicking in bad~
I should really wait a little while before posting this but I was really happy with the look and can’t help myself. Pardon the spammage! It’s been quite some time since I really felt the blogging bug hit me this hard ^^

Once in a while I like to surf through lookbook.nu to see some RL fashion taking place. There’s a particular girl named Tahti Syrjala whom I really love! I like a good dose of redheads and her styling is always impeccable. This look that I did kinda reminded me of her somewhat — the sleek black cuts and the vivid red hair was probably what resembled Tahti. Hope you guys like it!

It started off with me trying to mix and match Noju’s new Spring Lace dress which comes in a skirt or romper/pants version and in 3 different lengths per set! So there’s so many variety of ways for you to don this item. I decided to wear it with Maitreya’s Bubble Skirt which I have been meaning to wear ever since their release. Maitreya’s new line has some really amazing color palettes and I love it’s subtleness. Onyx really did an amazing job~

Black and Nude has always been one of my favorite color combinations and it goes well with eha’s new hair, Chiko in Orange! I love the messiness of the hair which contrasts well with the tailored-ness of the outfit.

To add a pop of color, a huge thanks to Valena for dropping me her new Stella Clutch! This clutch comes in a myriad of colors and will be available in her upcoming brand ORTA. Valena recently learnt Maya and is just such a brilliantly fast student! I love the teaser pictures she’s been giving us in Plurk and I know I’m on the edge of my seats regarding her new brand~ Keep a look out!!

NOTsoBAD is renowned in SL for their amazingly classy furnitures; their sculpting and baking of each and every item in their store is just impeccable! Recently i’ve seen a sudden interest in home decorating popping about the fashion world and it’s no wonder — with all the talent emerging in the furniture making department~

NOTsoBAD is currently having a 20% sale from May 3rd to May 17th for all their houses and new beds! This simple post shows a few of their items and I can’t say it does much justice to the beauty of the pieces in world, you really need to go and see these up close to notice all the tiny details they put into their work!

The nautical trend has been seen again and again through seasons and for me, it’s classic and trendy. The boater also known as a skimmer, or sennit hat is often associated with sailing or boating and I believe emerged from this nautical trend. When I saw LoveSoul’s new hair releases featuring the boater hat, I can’t help but come up with some looks to compliment it. The looks aren’t necessary nautical inspired, but it shows the versatility of such a hat!

In the first look, I opted to use the shorter style of LoveSoul’s new release — it’s a little bob that’s a little less feminine but still adorable. I paired it with GATO’s flowery blazer which has a vintage quality to it. I love floral prints for this season and I can see it constantly popping around the grid! Matching it’s vintage quality, I used Kyoot’s Taupe dress which features a simple dotted print but intricate around the collar area~ It works really well for layering purposes and matches This is a Fawn’s Peter Pan blouse really well. For both looks, I’m using BeetleBone’s Woven Tote Bag which has a little scarf tied around the handle, a bag that’s a must have for your inventory!

The second look is a even braver play on prints. I used Ume Mode’s Sun Dress which has ethnic prints on it and layered over Enchanty’s Chocolate colored tweed jacket. I really love how the 2 different textures kinda play together! The boots come from Kloka, a store that carries a variety of items and very worth the check out! Atelier*AM has also released several new necklaces and I’ve always been a big fan of Aya’s talent in draping her necklaces to look very natural and believable. Her jewelry is so versatile and classic and never fails to match any look you might have!

In a blink of an eye, Spring is here… whoohoo~ As I’m now in Singapore, there really isn’t seasons, which is why I’m glad I can “live” its fashion out in SL! Thinking about Spring, we normally associate florals and bright happy colors with it. Grey is probably not the color that comes to mind, but what happens when all season long you’ve been stocking up on monochromatic colors? You can’t simply just throw them away! When shopping I have a tendency to go for whites or greys when picking monochromatic palettes so my inventory ends up bursting with those 2 choices. For this post, I thought of using the color grey as the main aspect for a look, and mixing about other pieces to make the look fitting for Spring! Hope you guys enjoy~~

Firstly though, one awesome thing is MY UGLYDOROTHY’s new skin Vienna! Sopha has been trying to reinvent her skins image and this one is definitely more sexy and womanly as compared to her previous skin lines. Vienna is a mainly tanned skin so all 3 skin tones (Light, Medium and Tanned) are within the tan range. I’m sporting all 3 different skin tones for you guys to get a glimpse of how each of them looks. All 3 skin tone has 30 different makeups. So jump on over and take a look!!

This look is a girly chic look which came about with me cleaning out my inventory and finding this lovely long tunic shirt Essenza from Glam Affair (Formerly known as Beauty Avatar). This grey piece is appropriate for Spring for its flexi lightness~ I like the color combination of Grey and Yellow which is why I decided to sport this adorable skirt from Mustache. It has such a feminine lemon color which works very well with the look. Throw on a loose scarf so as not to add too much weight like this classic one from Ce Cubic.

I accessorized the look with a huge straw hat from COCO and the cutest woven bag from LG Concept. To keep the look from looking overly feminine and obvious, I wore Mustache’s Moccasin shoes. Another thing I really love about this look is Kin’s newer releases, Sia. I really love Kin’s hair and have always tried to hop in there occasionally to see what new hair has been brewed. There’s so many styles there to suit any tastes and look, so if you’ve never been there, head on over!

The next look is something more feminine but with a cute appeal. Suetabulous Yootz from BeetleBones has been busy with her newly opened Pookie Promenade and I’ve seen her slaved for months to finish the place up together with making new goodies for you guys. If you haven’t went down to take a look at her new items, you are seriously missing out on some amazing stuff! For example this Lucia High Waisted Skirt comes in several other colors and is just the most adorable skirt with eekle buttons~~ The skirt itself looks as if it’s made of a heavier fabric so wear it with something lighter and less cumbersome on the top to befit the season. Coral and grey is yet another color combination that is really pretty. I wore fri.day’s tank in coral and added Decoy’s new Lynn scarf to really add some feminine touches to the look. This scarf comes in solids, florals and a mixed color set which looks like tie dye. I really love the floral ones as it’s so spring worthy and compliments so many different looks!

The hair I’m wearing comes from eha, a store i’ve been meaning to check out but never had the time to. I finally went a few days ago and was thrilled to find this adorable cut as a freebie! To make it look less unisexual, I wore Fresh Thrash’s shoelace head accessory. Fresh Thrash has some adorable head bands which are really great accessories for the season. Shoe wise, I’ve been on an oxford craze lately hence why Picnic’s shoes make me squeal in joy as in comes in several adorable fabrics!

For this final look, I really wanted to do an all monochromatic palette and then boosting it with a statement necklace. The trick of wearing monochromatics for Spring is to be lighter fabrics and the grid is currently brimming with choices! AOHARU’s relaxed pleated jeans are great loose denim which looks as if its been worn over and over again for a very soft linen feel. Pair it with oyakin’s tunic top which has been modified slightly (simply shorten the dress into a top) for something breezy. I wore COCO’s more structured vest over it to give the look a bit of edge~

I love how 50 Linden Fridays can bring us some of the most adorable things for a budget price. Hence why I immediately tped over to Surf Co when I found out these pair of shoelace sandals are selling for 50L! It’s the most creative sandals and just so endearing~~ Like I said earlier on, I wanted a statement necklace to add a pop of color to a look, which is why Zaara’s turquoise necklace came just at the right time for me. I do love turquoise jewelry and I think this necklace is just simply stunninnnggg just as all Zaara’s pieces are!

It’s been a while since I blogged, and writing on this empty notepad seems so foreign and long ago… how melodramatic!! During this time of not blogging, I’ve seen my favorite bloggers slowly taking breaks and leaving SL; I’ve often wondered if I too should follow suit and just leave. Every time I think of erasing my blog, I think of all the reasons why I initially begun to blog and can’t bring myself to really “pull the plug” so to speak.

Obviously the joy comes from loving the different clothes available in Second Life, after all that’s what spurs most of us fashion bloggers too eh? I too realize that writing is also another reason why even though I could simply post images and different looks with no words accompaniment — I just can’t do it. It may be mundane to write about how wonderful a pixel garment is but I find it a joy to really get down to the nitty gritty of things. When I read someone’s comments about the work that I do I smile and think about the effort they put in to look at your work and bother to comment. So as a blogger… it seems like putting in a bit of effort to actually write isn’t really too much to ask for when we’re blessed with such wonderful art to showcase.

It’s funny how now I hear about review copies being asked and sent on both bloggers and designers part. When I started blogging, I don’t remember requesting for review copies because I always felt isn’t the work done by a designer when creating a meticulous piece of garment in Second Life, not enough payment for a fashionista? Sure it’s hard to come up with the cash to purchase every new item made in Second Life (Happens nearly everyday!) — but to request for review copies to be the only thing you blog about… really? How ethical is that? I guess it’s up to personal believes and tastes.

I won’t try to stand on a high horse and say I’ve never received review copies because I have indeed received them through my stay in Second Life. It makes me happy knowing someone actually believes in me enough to blog their work… but yet recently i’ve heard of designers who sends out review copies and get mad when their items aren’t being used in blogs. Designers have a free will of sending out review copies. If someone asked for it, you gave it and they didn’t blog it; sure you have every right to get mad. But if you dropped them randomly, please understand that things come up now and then. The pressure of having to blog everything thrown at you, yes, I use the word thrown — can really take it’s toll on you.

Regarding crediting, I take the liberty to credit every single thing I wear together with the pose used (occasionally I slip up on this) and include SURLS because I want to. Not because I need to. I think this is something a lot of us have to get used to in the world of SL fashion. We’re so spoiled with bloggers crediting every single thing that when something isn’t, we assume that the blogger isn’t doing their “job”. I have to say, blogging was never a job to me, nor to many bloggers I know out there. We blog because we enjoy doing it and we take out a little bit of time in our lives to do it. It’s not something one can do with a snap of ones fingers… or if that’s possible, well, good for you!

This little post is just little thoughts I manage to scramble along the way of being away from blogging these past few months. Ramblings of my own little quirky brain. I don’t expect everyone to agree with what I say or even read what I wrote. But hey, that’s what your own private blog is for. As Designers have every freedom to create whatever they wish, we have to realize Bloggers have every freedom to blog what they want, when they want to and do whatever they wish to with their blog.

Occasionally I think Designers need to cut the Bloggers some slack, and Bloggers need to start appreciating their Designers more. If we both show each other some respect, I’m sure it’ll be a more inspiring place to be in for everyone ^^

With that… hope to start blogging again… cause I MISS BLOGGING!! <3
