Hair Fair 2012 has closed its doors and wrapped up a great year for designers and coordinators alike. Last I heard the total amount they raised was over 2 million lindens for Wigs for Kids. I hope the coordinators give themselves a pat on the back for making it such a lag free and well-coordinated event.
My final posting is fairly late, but I believe most of these stores have been visited and shopped at. Sand was definitely my favorite sim and it was difficult for me to pick favorites since there were so many brands that I usually shop at. So what I did was really just picked out the hairs based on themes and just ran with that idea. I hope you guys enjoyed these themed shots I’ve done for Hair Fair, and it’s always something I look forward to doing every year for Hair Fair! Thank you to the designers for always being so terribly inspiring.
I’ve linked most of the SURLS to the creators’ main stores, and most of them will be available soon since the fair has closed. If they’re not out yet, do keep an eye on their stores; I’m sure they’ll be up soon!
Whoo! One more sim to go and I’d have knocked all 4 sims from this year’s Hair Fair – it’s been yet another fun filled round of blogging about hairs, and I’m already looking forward to next years which I’m certain will be equally amazing as usual.
Water was the sim that I was most unfamiliar about in terms of designers, most of them were stores that I’ve seen in previous Hair Fairs but did not frequent most of the time. This really equates to being a little more adventurous with the themes, styling and moving away from what I’m more comfortable with. Either ways, I’m certain I’m walking away from this years fair having more designers on my belt to frequent and keep an eye for.
Hi folks, my postings might be running a little late since my body in real life has been giving way rather badly into fevers and eye infection *shakes fist*. Either ways do check out Hair Fair before they close on 29th July, which is in 4 days time! Even though most hairs will be available after Hair Fair itself, buying a hair now donates a percentage to Wigs for Kids that is a really good cause!
I’ll keep posting till the final sim is done though just as a personal project of mine! I hope you guys enjoy!
Every year Hair Fair brings out a bunch of people from their reclusive states just to join in the excitement of getting more hair for their already bursting inventories. Organizers rallying up deadlines and making sure lags under control, Designers scramble to finish setting up or… finish even, and Bloggers cracking their knuckles, getting ready to either snap shots, type up posts or simply buy a ton of hairs. It’s a bustle of activity for this one great cause, Wigs for Kids.
I was lucky enough to be accepted as a vendor again this year and was definitely slightly late with setting up, but the experience of creating hair is always a stressful and fun project to have. I however was especially excited to do a series of Hair Fair posts like I did last year, which was one of the more inspiring blog posts to do. Possibly cause my brain seems to like working in little mini themes.
This year instead of 15, I have cut it down to 12 and I’m attributing to the fact that there were a lot of mesh hairs about this year, and my head simply doesn’t fit those very well. The lack of modifying aspect in most mesh hairs also makes it difficult to customize. This is something that greatly annoys me when it comes to anything rigged, its no fault of anyone of course. If there was some way of modifying the hair, either providing 1 copy which is rigged no modify and one copy that’s unrigged modify – it might really save people a ton of problems in terms of head fit (rather than an alpha). At the same time, some designers have figured out smart ways of splitting the hair into 2 sections, making the ones nearing the forehead or scalp area unrigged/modify and the ones that gets affected by movement, rigged/no modify. Just a suggestion that might help mesh hair designers out there!
I’ll start my series with the Flower sim first, as that was really the first sims I began shopping from.
